thanks for the help! so you're saying the gt 740 is probably the best way to go?

it's the best one i see on newegg that is low powered enough for your psu. it's possible there are other models out there but i can't think of another gpu that is this low powered and would come as a low profile card.

what are your hopes for what this card can do? may not be good enough for your goals.

I am just looking for a graphics card to run games on steam on lowest setting (team fortress 2, counter strike)

yah it will be good enough for that but not much else :)

so long as you don't expect ultra settings at 120 fps or anything like that. it'll work for low setting games like that no problem. if i may offer a though however, amd has new cards coming out at the end of the month. the new 460 is designed for those games and should be stronger performing and cost around $100. it will be low powered enough for you as well and the samples shown are pretty small. might give it a few weeks and se if there isn't a compact card coming out that is better than what is out now.

if not, this card will still be there :)

thanks for the heads up, i'll look out for them. but also I am worried about the graphics card not being able to fit. as the PC has a very small case

do you have skype? it will be easier to chat back and fourth through there. again thanks for the help :)

sorry i don't use any of that. what you can do is open the case and measure the space available. measure from the slot to the edge of the case and see how much height you have to work with. most of the time, the height of a card is listed in the specs page. looking at the card though, it is much shorter than the slot height itself. i would assume the case can't get too much lower and still have the standard slot height for the outputs.

the case is 3.9" wide which is pretty much the slot height, so you should have at least 3.6" or so to work with inside the case. but measure to be sure.

nice catch!!! :) i am not sure how i missed that card. did not filter with low profile cards but as a single slot card. that is a lot better than a 740 and should not use too much more power.

go with that one for $30 less and better than the one i linked to!!

Yeah filter searches often miss cards, I just Googled "low profile 750ti" and found it. I didn't actually click on the card you found, I just read the GT 740, if I had of known it was more expensive I may've made a bigger deal out of it :)

lol, and once i saw the card i remembered it from previous questions like this. i should have just known it was there. spent too much time on the new pascal cards that i'm dumping a lot of maxwell knowledge .....

Okay, I am on my laptop and the case is 3.9" like you said. but I am confused on how I would measure the width of the space that the graphics card would fit in? here is a video of the inside of the case http://

wow!! that's crammed near the top of the case. looks like it would bump into the curled rail for the side to attach to first. the video helps a lot for me to picture the inside of the case for you.

the 750ti pete pointed out (thanks again) is 2 3/4" tall. so just be sure there is that much height available before you hit that curled rail, which it should have by a good 1/2" or more. measure from the top of the pcie slot.

it is a little under 3" measuring from the top of the pcie slot ( which is this right? http:// sorry im a noob with this) and how would I measure the width and can you tell me the width of the card, can't find it in the specs, thanks in advance.

from the slot to the side of the case is about 1". Do you think I would be able to cut into the side of the case to make an opening for room? as nothing important is there but an airway

i am also worried about it bumping into the back of the case, could I cut that out to?

which part are you considering the back of the case? with the outputs? that part should stick out some so the outputs can be accessed. it should not bump into anything else but the top of the case it is too close to.

but you can cut away anything you need to so long as it does not interfere with other parts.

Just a quick question, does the cable from your monitor use either DVI or HDMI? Because if it uses VGA there is a problem. Low profile cards come with 1 full length bracket and 2 short low profile brackets. The full length bracket has all 3 display outputs, where as the low profile only have HDMI and DVI on the 1st bracket, so a 2nd is used for the VGA, but you don't have room for it.
