FX-6300 OC : are my temps safe ?

Hello guys,

So I just overclocked my CPU, I ran a Prime95 test and it was stable (2 hours).

The thing is that the CPU reaches 59°C under load, even with an aftermarket cooler (212 Evo). Well even before the overclocking it reached 55°C.
When in idle it's fine, 30°C max.

So are my temps safe ? 'cuz it seems pretty hot...

Thanks for any help :)

Thanks for your replies guys, glad to your hear that !

But is it normal to reach 60°C under load with an aftermarket cooler ? I mean I saw that some people are below 50°C and all with a 212 Evo so I wonder if it's because my case is badly ventilated (Zalman Z3 Plus) or if my thermal paste isn't well applied.

Your temps are fine. I would start to worry a bit if it gets above 65 - 70

You can use programs to measure them. Real Temp for example

The temps are fine.

Regarding the thermal margin. At lower temps you get wrong numbers, either they oscillate or you get ridiculously low temps [like the 8350, right now it shows me that the temps are 16 - 25 °C]. But as soon as the cpu gets hotter the readings are accurate enough.

I'm measuring temps with HWMonitor. Tthere are socket temps and core temps ("Packages temperatures"), so I'm focusing on core temps when it comes to heat (max was 59°C under load).

I ran another stress test (2-3 hours) and as all you guys said I used AMD Overdrive to measure the temps.

So in idle I got 50°C in thermal margin when in full load I got 17°C-20°C max. These temps are ok right ? Thanks again btw
