So I woke up this morning and booted up my PC to check the news and things, about 5 minutes into connection to the internet i got the chrome connection issue screen. I was confused because the icon on the taskbar said i was connected. Checked the packets being sent and received and I have received like 10x more than I had sent. So I reset my Router/modem and it worked again, five minutes into browsing the same issue occured.
So now i knew there was something wrong, i tried resetting the router/modem and using a wireless device to check the connection for 10 minutes, everything was fine. As soon as i booted my PC up the connection dropped within 5 minutes~.
Not a clue what is going on, done a full system scan with malwarebytes and avast, everything is clean.
I'm not a networking expert or remotely knowledgeable about networking, gave as much information as i could any help?:(
p.s. i narrowed this down to unplugging and plugging the ethernet cable connected from my pc to this wireless thing I have that allows me to use a ethernet cable to convert to wireless etc. (temp solution till i got a decent network card that supports wireless) and yes this took me about 3 (resets) to post

Are any other devices beyond your pc having network/internet connection problems? If so, give your ISP a call and have them check things from their end.

I believe that the "wireless thing" you are plugging your pc into is probably a router. If you post the make and model information we can figure that out for sure.

And that router (if it is a router) may be, in turn connected to a modem. If so, that make and model information may be helpful.

The router provides both wired and wireless connectivity for devices on your network. And also participates in internet connectivity.

Start by making sure that all wired connections, ethernet and power, are fully connected and tight.

Then try another port on the router with the existing ethernet cable. Temporarily unplug something that is working if you can as you will know that that router port is working. Then try another known working ethernet cable.

And if you have another wired device plug it in where pc is currently connected. See if the problem follows the ports or the pc.

Try to narrow the problem down some. Then other/additional options can be addressed.

nono im not that inept :D it's a repeater forgot the name at the time, havent check any wired devices to the actual router don't have password access to them, but my pc is connected to a repeater which connects my pc to the router wirelessly (due to the lack of wireless capabilities of my mobo) essentially I believe its coming down to something I cannot control as the router is able to send out signals flawlessly at 2.4 and 5ghz but the connection from the router to the ISP seems to be the problem.

this is the router i have at home, and essentially everything is lit blue (functioning without an issue) apart from the arrow which im assuming is upload and download it is blank hence why I believe it is an external issue

If the system with the issue is not connected directly to the router, you need to do that, otherwise you can't start to troubleshoot anything without removing variables. Ideally you would start connected directly to the modem with the computer, test that, then test on Ethernet on the router, then wifi on the router, then go on to trying things with that repeater.
