Hello,

from time to time my computer crashes for no apparent reason. Therefore, i checked the temperatures of the hardware via SpeedFan, but nothing abnormal occured. However, when i checked with CPUID HWMonitor, i got odd values (see the mobo readings in the pic below). The current readings for the CPU temperature are okay, but the max values are > 70°C. When i clear the min/max values, the current values remain constant, but the max values are more or less the same as before (~ 70°C). Are the current and max values 2 different readings? Can anyone tell, what is going on? Thanks for your help.

Hello... Kernel error can be from YOU or YOUR Hardware to the OS B / ... typically you would, the maintenance "guy" put your meter to The PS there first B / OR in you case replace it first. B / Cheapest part too start with there first?... and Typical heat failure B /

You NEED to be logged on as administrator to the OS...

let's see what the OS is reporting as the error... Right click computer-manage-SystemTools-Windows logs-system.... Click on the "RED" errors, for more information... and files/drivers/Apps, comments/suggestions/information associated with them B )

Posting Those screen images B )

Hi Ironsounds,

thanks for your help. I filtered the list to display errors and critical notices only and this is what i get:

The messages from the source "Service Control Manager" are related to the Steam software and are not linked to the crashes. The "Kernel-power" messages look like this:

I assume you dont speak german, so the short version of this is: The system rebooted, but has not been shut down properly.

The "EventLog" messages look like this:

This says, that the system has beedn shut down unexpectedly.

So i guess this is not helping much, is it? :(

However this still bugs me: Why are the readings for value and max so apart (35 vs 74°C)? When i reset min/max, the max value instantly rises to >70°C. Is this a bug?
