Hi All -

Can you assist me on the fan placing for my NZXT Phantm 410. It has 2 on the front, 1 on side, 1 on bottom , 1 on rear and 2 on top. Total of 7.

Do I need to add fans on all of these slots. My case came up with 2 free fans fron NZXT so I think I should put that one on 2 front. I recently bought a h100i which has two fans that which will be placed on two top I think.

However, while looking on the internet for some tips. I saw this one:

He has the same case (phantom 410) with h100i. The fan of h100i was inside and looks like he add two additional fan on top which leads to total of 9 fans if u will use all of it.

Can you give your thought about this and give some advise on what will I make as intake or exhaust.

Thanks in advance.

Fan rule of thumb:

Front <= (Blows in)
Bottom <= (Blows in)
Sides <= (Blows in)
Top => (Blows Out)
Rear => (Blows Out)

Exception to the rule .... Radiator Fans ALWAYS blow in <=

You want one 140mm fan for each 75 - 100 watts of heat inside the case An overclocked i5 / i7 will produce 135 watts, a high end nVidia GFX card say 250, high end MoBo 40 watts ... everything else about 30 watts.

If you have SLI, add another fan to blow air between the cards on the back of the HD cage.

If you want quiet, Id have 5-6 fans moving air in or out of the case.

Two on top blowing in thru rad
One on rear blowing out
Two in front blowing in
One on bottom blowing in

Total ... 5 in / 1 out ... the remaining air will exit thru case grilles.

Hi, I'm planning to perform a semi OC with (4.2-4.4) my current setup is:
i5 6600k
MSI z170a pro carbon
msi 980 TI
Seasonic M12II 620W Bronze
16gb gskills 2400mh
h100i

so do u mean I put
2 fans front IN
2 fan top IN
1 fan bot IN
1 fan side IN
2 fans from H100i IN (like the pic provided)
1 fan rear out

total of 8 in and 1 out. Correct me if im wrong. THanks
