So last night I was playing battlefield 4 for a few hours maybe 3-4 then I turned off my computer and went to bed. This morning when I turned on my pc nothing was displayed to the monitor I noticed that on my motherboard the red vga LED light was on. The only thing I did that was out of the ordinary was I used nvidia shadow play to record 5 minutes of battlefield 4. I did try another pci lane that didn't work. I tried another graphics card and that did work it could display to a monitor through the graphics card. Right now I am using the igpu I have a R7 260x I am going to try and I will also be testing the graphics card that I think has died in another pc.

Any help or suggestions would be great thanks in advanced!

Edit: A few things I forgot to add
1 The card was working fine no dips in framerates
2 It was in the warm side around 75C but thats not to bad

So your card is the EVGA GTX 970 4GB SSC, right?

Anyway, testing the card in another pc is the best thing you can do, so I dont know what else to offer/suggest.
And you already did the sensible thing and tested a different card in your pc and that worked, so its only logical that the suspect would be the 970.

Best of luck to you, this 970 is a good card (SSC too), I hope its actually fine, it saddens me that such a card would die, even if it isnt mine.

P.S. It could just be your PSU or one of its PCIe power cables, but its less likely than the card itself being faulty.

Thanks for the quick response. Also I will try a different cable and a different psu just to be sure.

So the standard "successful boot, POST" beep then, indicating that everything is A-OK.
