Long story short I'm looking to downsize my computer. Don't really have the space for an ATX cube case on my desk anymore and wanted to look into other options. Here's the build that I'm sitting on right now.

i5-6600k Build

I'm either looking to swap to MATX or MITX form factor, though I'm not how big the tradeoff is in terms of a)space vs. performance, and b)how much will the overclocking be affected.

Here's what I was looking at for MATX.

i5-6600k MATX Build

And ITX.

i5-6600k MITX Build

Any glaring issues with either potential build? Any tweaks I could make for better performance? Any help I can get would be appreciated as this is my first venture into small form factor stuff and want to do things right the first time. Thanks in advance!

I have the Air 240. It's a nice case. Can't speak for overclocking in it but I wouldn't anticipate any real problems with a water cooler. I have a i7-4790k in it, runs at full stock turbo for hours on end (render jobs) with no apparent throttling using an air cooler. Please note the 3.5 drive cage blocks your access to the rear hole that you want to pass your CPU power through. Getting it in with the cage in place seemed to be impossible when I set it up.

The iTX build seems kind of pointless as the case is virtually the same size as the mATX case. It's not even more expensive than your mATX build.

Frankly iTX builds are not for overclocking they're for minimum space first, max power 2nd. If you have your heart set on overclocking to stick to mATX or a full ATX.

Such is life in Canada. Prior to the 10XX series release the 980ti was retailing for close to 1000 at most local shops. You get used to it.

It's good to hear the 240 is a good case though. I love how my 540 looks, but I just can't justify the size when it takes up so much of the space on my desk. Would there be any other MATX windowed cases you could suggest that might work?

nothing to recommend for mATX, I built that rig years ago so I don't really remember what other cases I looked at back then. Currently I'm thinking about building a light iTX build using a Node 202 case but you can't really overclock in it due to its size (an inch or so bigger than an xbox one).
