So I made a build
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/xgVMpb
I was wondering how many fans I would need for it, where they should go, and whether they should be an input or output fan.

By the way, this is my first gaming build, so any recommendations will be great!

edit: I just realized this is wrong forum, but idk how to move a thread... If anyone can do that, it would be appreciated!

Bad idea. This video does not cover a lot. They use an empty case so there are no airflow restrictions, there no radiators, hdd cages etc.
This video does not cover SP and AF fans and when to use them. it does not cover positive/negative/neutral pressure - which is better and how to achieve one.
So please, why to confuse people when all they need is a simple answer.
your build does not require many fans.
2 intake fans in the front
2 exhaust fans. one of them you put on the top, the other on the rear.
You should use Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ Newegg) even though it's a bit more expensive, it is much higher quality.
Also, I'd suggest to wait few weeks with your build. RX460 (or may be even RX 470) will be out and will give you much better graphics for the same money.
While waiting, you can also consider adding about 100$ and switching to i5 build which will serve you much longer along with better gaming experience.

Ok thanks for replying! I can't really afford the i5 processor, as my budget was originally $500, but I changed to $550. Also, I believe that the case comes with one fan in the front, so is it okay if I use only one fan in the front and the other 2 on the top and rear? Btw, the price on PC picker is below, as I am not ordering from NCIX, due to their EXTREMELY high shipping fees. So I don't have much money left to spare, but I'll look at your power supply! Thanks for replying!

You'd be better with one top or rear mounted exhaust and two intake fans . You will have much less dust in your system.
Since you are on tight budget, consider the waiting for RX 460/470. It really worth it and it's not a year of waiting.

Fans. The spec-01 red comes with 1x 120 mm Ted led fan. Question is, do you really want the red fan up front. If yes, get a matching corsair red led 120 mm fan for the front, 2x 120 mm for the top. With a stock cooler, up mounted fans are of more use than the rear, so 2x on top would be better than 1 on rear, 1 on top.

Me personally, I'd prefer to mount the red led at rear, 2x 120mm on top and 2x 140mm as intake at front.

It's an amd cpu, with a stock cooler, therefore it'll run warm, and don't oc it till you get a decent cooler. Maximizing fan outputs will mean greater airflow than necessary, so you won't have to spin the fans at maximum, closer to 500rpm. Makes it much quieter. Run the front 2x as intake by splitter to 1 header, the top 2x as exhaust by splitter to 1 header and the rear as its own header.

If budget is a major concern, a 4-pack of 120mm corsair AF performance is cheap, as is 2x splitters, and I'd do that instead, but still put the red led on the exhaust. It'll have a more dramatic affect in the window.

Oops I selected best answer wrong... I'm going with the RX 460, thanks for the input! I'm going for more of an HD gaming thing, but I'd save $50 on the 460, and the 470 would take me WAAAY over my budget. Thanks again!

Can you link the 4-pack of fans? I can't find them :(
