I’ve decided to bite the bullet and say goodbye to my old PC, as it’s on its last legs. I love PC gaming and am trying to build a system that will last me for a bit when it comes to playing the highest end games at a solid fps level. The goal is to get advice from people much more experienced than I am. My budget is about $1,200-$1,300 which is what these parts totaled fall in the ballpark of. I think my heart is set on the GTX 1070 when that comes back in stock. Any advice on what I should take away or add to this setup below would be appreciated! Thank you!

Listed below are the components I’m thinking about getting:

  • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 ($450)
    CPU: Intel Boxed Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz 8M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151 BX80662I76700K ($335)
    Case: Corsair Carbide Spec-02 ($60)
    SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB ($90)
    Secondary storage: Seagate 1TB ($50)
Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ($150)
    PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B1 80+ BRONZE, 750W Semi Modular ($60)
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO ($29)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury (16GB) ($60)

Solution
The ram might be a little tall with the evo - hard to check on phone. Get low profile like corsair lpx just to be sure.

Not sure a out B1 evga - see g2 and p2 thrown around a lot.

Nice build!

Thanks for the advice! I'll look into the LPX series and see what I can do. As far as the power source, I was looking for something around 750W that was still not too expensive. I may just shell out a few extra bucks to get a G2 or P2 if it looks like it's worth it.

I suggest you buy the Cooler Master Hyper 212x (dual fan maybe, if it fits your budget) & for the storage use the WD Blue 7200RPM Hard drive (best in class).

May I ask the specs of your old PC? I've found a lot of times here, the old PC someone's getting rid of has parts that aren't a problem -- a shockingly high number of people assume their i5-3570k or i7-2600k CPUs are obsolete.
