I am buying one of these for gaming, skype and maybe podcasting in the future. If you have any other one that is as good as one of these, then please suggest them(Under 80$ or so). I want to be about 1 feet away from the mic to talk.

Here is a list of mics that i want to buy: Blue Snowball, ATR2100, Samson Meteor, AT2020 (maybe, its pretty expensive for me), ATR2500, CAD U37.

I am thinking of ATR2100, because I can use it later in future when I need it with to connect it through a mixer or something.

Solution
if you went at2020 you would want the at2020usb or at2020usbplus (adds live listening) not just the at2020 since thats xlr. great sounding microphone. an xlr cable to 3.5mm will NOT work as xlr mics need phantom power so need a 48v phantom power supply or interface.

the atr2500 is similar but not quite as good and build quality is lesser. overall a good budget microphone though. i think this is one of the better cheap choices.

blue yeti is also good but has more modes than you really need and is hard to find cheap accessories for.

on a budget, snowball isnt bad but if you want a shock mount its expensive. i like the sound signature of the 2500 a bit more but thats preference.

for really cheap the neewer nw800 mic isnt bad but you...
Hello... Good questions... B ) All microphones are made to be close to your mouth... B o... Just like the Video's and Concerts B /
And there are different connections and Voltages. B / Recording through a MIC is considered an 'ART"...So brand and input needs to be matched.

Will connect it with an USB cable or I can make a XLR to 3.5mm cable, so it isn't a problem. Don't want to spend about 50$ on a mixer just for a mic, so I don't have 48 volts that are in need for condenser mics

I want to get a Mic now, so I don't need to get it later. I will be streaming and doing podcasts about 4 months later.

I now have only a webcam mic and I have headphones without mic.

Hello... Well the PRO's use the Pro stuff... and it is NOT USB.... it's Plugged into "phantom power" and Condenser Mics"... Like I said it's a 'ART"
What software is the key to helping you here... it's a Communication channel between hardware and software...

to go Pro and on the Low$$ I would suggest a USB2 Audio interface... want to look at some with me? B /

I really don't want to buy an Audio inteface, because they are pretty expensive(around 100$). I can make an XLR to 3.5mm cable or I get an ATR2100, or in the worst case, get an USB mic.

for really cheap the neewer nw800 mic isnt bad but you would want a cheap interface to power it. sound quality is suprisingly good for a cheapo mic but it is not very bassy (the at and blue mics have a more bassy signature)
