After doing a clean install of Windows 7 and updating the BIOS to v1805 from v1105 (I think) I ran into a problem where my computer doesn't seem to detect the Optical 5.1 output.

Is there a way to downgrade the version of the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming BIOS?

I have tried EZ Flash 3 and the Asus DOS utility. Both tell me that I can't flash an older version of the BIOS and flashing the current BIOS again doesn't solve the problem.

Are there any other ways to allow my BIOS to be flashed using an older version of the BIOS?

Thanks for any advice!

Specs:
MB - Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
BIOS - v1805
CPU - Intel i5 6600K
RAM - Kingston 8GB
GPU - Nvidia GTX 670

Can I just tell you something.
If you flashed the motherboard with a new bios firmware revision.

And after the flash the optical 5.1 output stopped working.

It is because to flush what we call dirty cache, or old bios code out of the bios chip to complete full programming of the new firmware.

You have to manually reset the motherboard bios via the jumper pins on the motherboard back to factory defaults.
Once you do this providing you have used the correct bios firmware for the exact model of motherboard you have.

You will regain use of the optical 5.1 output.

Okay I just did that then and I still do not have the Optical 5.1 output device.
Should I clear it then re-flash?
