Okay, so I have a high end PC that I'm pretty sure I should be running every game with WAY over Okay so, not too long ago, around about two months ago I upgraded my PC to be pretty good, but it hasn't been running up to my expectations, unfortunately. I feel like with my new specs I should be able to EASILY get 60 fps but it doesn't seem to be going my way. If there is any way people can suggest anything that can help, it'd be great!

A little more info, all of my drivers (to my knowledge) are updated using Nvidia Geforce and Disk Defragmentation is automatically happening every week, so I don't really know what else the problem could be. I am getting frame drops in most games I play, so I know it isn't just on the games end, and its on mine. (If you couldn't tell already, I'm not all that computer savvy"

Specs :
Motherboard - Asus Maximus Hero VIII
CPU - Intel I7 6700K
GPU - Nvidia GTX 960
16 GB G.Skills Ripjaws DDR4

If you have any other questions or suggestions feel free to ask me!

My daughter plays Dying Light and I did for a few hours until I decided it was rubbish. 60fps Ultra at 1080p is not possible on a 960, but lower settings...

I figured out of everything that would be the most prominent problem, my 960 was from my last build and I didn't have the money to buy a 980 so I just kept what I had, but even so, I didn't think it was bad enough to bottleneck this hard?

The games i've been noticing lag the most in lately would be Smite and Dying Light. In Smite I rock 60-70 FPS which I expected, but whenever I turn quickly it goes down to 10 FPS for a second and can really mess with you while playing. In Dying light I can hardly keep 60 FPS which is kind of unfortunate.

I guess my res would be in windowed fullscreen, so 1920 x 1080.

I think you are expecting too much from your 960 - it's a perfectly good 1080p card, but not always at Ultra / 60+fps. I don't think you have anything 'wrong' with your build, when you upgrade the GPU, you'll be able to see a big difference.
