hi , i was running 8 gb ddr3 1333 mhz with a intel core quad q6600 and geforce gtx 960 and got about 30-35 fps in the division after putting Another 4 gb ram it improved over 10 fps between 45-50 why is that i thought 8 gb was enough for any game?
Memory Channeling could be a factor depending on the Mobo and the memory configuration. If adding the extra ram opened up dual or triple channeling then you could get anywhere from a 5% to a 20% increase in system performance and therefore get better frame rates. I have also seen when upgrading ram, the CPU performance improves. If the game is CPU intensive then that could also explain it.

thats unusual. switching from 8gb to 12gb (?) shouldn't really have that effect. Sometimes with less than 8gb you can have stuttering due to windows swapping files to your HD. But 8gb is pretty sufficient for gaming. So adding the extra 4 in shouldn't really have had that effect.

yeah it opend up the dual channel maybe it in some way compensates for the bad cpu? thanks
It would basically reduce bottle necking and allow the CPU to do more work faster. If the game was heavy on CPU rendering, I believe that would be your answer.
