Keyboard not being detected on boot so I can't access the BIOS

I have an asus motherboard with uefi BIOS. My keyboard lights up when I boot up the PC but pressing the delete key does nothing and it will come up with a screen saying that both my mouse and keyboard are not detected. But when the PC is fully booted up both the keyboard and mouse work fine.

How do I fix this so I can go into my bios?

I just was having the same problem. I recently connected a wireless mouse to one of the USB ports (when this problem started). I think what happens is that the computer is trying to load the mouse driver (which takes longer) before the keyboard; thus, the keyboard does not get power until a few seconds after booted. I simply removed the mouse's receiver and tried again. Then it worked. If you have other USB devices plugged in as well, just remove all of them but the keyboard.

P.S. my computer is an old Dell (unknown model) with a Pentium 4 processor. This may or may not be a problem on newer computers with faster processors/boot sequences.

well this only just recently started happening. It used to work fine. I'm starting to think that my new HTC vive USB may be messing with it. It was after I installed that, that this started happening
