i7-4790k
corsair h80i gt cooler
Z97 Extreme 3 motherboard

When I'm running at a base clock 4.0ghz 4.3 at ~Turbo. my temps are fine 30 -35 degrees Celcius. idle and 45max under pressure.
But as soon as i crank it up to 4.7 Sh*t hits the fan and it goes up to 80 degrees celsius under pressure and keeps rising and i shut it off at 90 at 100% loads

Solution
How are you overclocking it? Are you just using someone elses voltage settings? To overclock you want to set the multiplier to 40x and the voltage to 1v then stress it. If stable increase multiplier to 41x and stress. Once system becomes unstable add 0.025v until stable again. Rinse and repeat until you hit the max of your chip and or desired overclock. Make sure to watch the temps while stressing the system. You typically do not want to go over 70c. But that depends on the cooler you have and what youre comfortable with.
Youre temps are very high. I have mine at 4.7 with 1.25v and under full load I stay under 65c. And even at 5.0ghz with 1.42v I dont touch 80c
