Hey guys i have an Antec VP350P wondering if it can support an ASUS GTX 750 Ti im getting one tomorrow as a temp budget pc upgrade but im not sure if i jumped too much for this power supply.

Update: reading the details on the side of the power it says as follows - 12V1, +12V2 max load: 336W. Total continuous output: 350

also in a box it says +12V1 + 12V2 with 18A underneath it so i assume that power can hold 18A or something?

i'd suggest the 600w version if you go with that psu line. it's not very good quality and that extra 100w will help keep you from overtaxing it. they are known to not like running at high outputs for very long.

i can offer better choices. i assume you are n the US? any of these would be a much better choice for little more than the corsair cx unit http://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/antec-power-supply-hcg620m,antec-power-supply-tp750c,seasonic-power-supply-s12ii520bronze,xfx-power-supply-xfxts550w/

notice the antec is a 750w gold rated unit and is a great sale price right now. would ensure future needs are met :)

oh right what is the 6 pin on the card used for then? like i'm so uneducated about pc's yet i have spent 5+ years pc gaming so far. apparently the card requires 20A on the 12V rail thats why im nervous as hell, the last thing i want is frying the whole system.

he is not right (well not entirely). some of the cards use a 6 pin and even an 8 pin connector. depends on the model as to what extra power it needs.

if the card has a 6 pin, then it needs that to run as it uses extra power. it'll still run on the psu you have, just uses more power than a reference 750ti which needs no extra power.

consider the overall low powered parts, i'd feel comfortable running on that psu. but a psu upgrade would be at the top of my list for the first new buy. we can offer quality units to fit your needs when you're ready to upgrade.

just drop in and ask and you'll get a bunch of ideas :)

I am in the UK, right i just put in my Asus GTX 750 Ti and it was a pain since i have a small case i had a problem off the get go, both my monitors had no signal i made sure everything was plugged in properly and tried again. Still i had no signal. so i tried my old card again and it works fine but on start up i had a error of some sort without saying the problem then it restarted up and loaded fine. Is that a sign that the PSU wasn't good enough then since i got 18Amps on my 12V 1 + 2.

that or a driver issue. did you uninstall the old drivers completely before installing the new card? then install drivers again with the new card?

if not, then it is possible the psu just can't handle the card. it's pretty weak and if it is low quality as well, it may be even weaker than the specs say. i have a 375w psu with 16 and 18 12v amps (you have 28 amps) and it is running a card that uses more power than a 750ti. but it is also a good quality unit.

looks like you need a new psu. in the uk here are some cheaper options, yet solid performance. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/antec-power-supply-hcg520,antec-power-supply-tp550c,silverstone-power-supply-st60fesb,xfx-power-supply-p1600bxtfr/
