Elgato Game Capture HD Causing Alot Of Computer Lag

I've just bought Elgato Game Capture HD, however when running it my computer massively lags, making the computer unusable. But my computer specs are good "AMD FX 6300 six core" "8GB RAM".

Any ideas on whats wrong? I've tried not showing the Preview and things...

1. your specs aren't good.
2. it's still capturing the gameplay to your PC, it's not really doing any processing for you, it just lets you receive the data. So you're just sending the video data to the elgato, which is sending it to the monitor and then back to the PC.
Elgatos are meant for capturing console gameplay.
