I want a smaller PC so I'm switching from ATX to Micro-ATX. Windows and small programs are installed on my SSD and bigger apps and files are on my hard drive. Storage config isn't in raid. If I change motherboards, will I have to re-install windows and other programs?

Motherboard I have: Asus Maximus VIII Hero

Motherboard I want to switch to: Asus Maximus VIII Gene

Edit: Don't know if this matters but I UPGRADED to Windows 10

If you are keeping the same cpu then get a new motherbd that uses the same chipset if you can. In any case, have the new motherbds drivers downloaded to a flash drive so that you have them handy as the audio and network chip are the most likely to change.
