I'll try & keep it simple & straight to the point. I just bought a Samsung 850 Pro 1tb SSD & I want to install Windows 8.1 & my games to the SSD but I don't want the games to keep automatically writing saves to the SSD, instead I would like game saves to automatically write to a HDD. I want to minimize the amount of writes to the SSD, or isn't that necessary anymore. My SSD wasn't cheap & I want to do what I can to help it's longevity & performance. Thanks for any help.

Hey there, XX_Jaycam_XX!

If you are doing a clean install, make sure you unplug the secondary SSD from the system until the process has finished. Otherwise, you might encounter an OS confusion which would cause you a lot of booting issues. Here's a guide that gives you step-by-step instructions for best Windows Install & Optimization.

As for moving the default location to the secondary drive afterwards, I'd suggest you check this tutorial from the community .

Hope it helps you! :)

If you would rather save documents on your computer, you can easily change that, although Word also sets a default folder on your computer for saving files, which is normally My Documents. To change the default location for saving files, click the File tab., Many resources like custom essay writing service is eager to facilitate the educational process for everyone and offers its reliable writing assistance with all types of written assignments.

Thanks for the reply but your answer is totally unrelated to my question.

Thanks again for the reply. I have worked it out and now have the OS installed on the SSD as well as my games, everything else is on the HDD, like videos/movies, pictures, music, downloads and game saves.
