I just put together my first computer, and it doesn't work.
Specifically: computer turns on, the power led glows, I can hear and feel each fan running, as well as the hard drive do a post and then continue to run. Everything seems to be in working order, however I get no signal from the computer to my monitor. This continues for as long as left it idle (about 5 minutes).
I've used two different hdmi cables and a dvi trying to get a signal from both the motherboard and the GPU. I'm currently in the process of trying each stick of ram individually in each slot and try hdmi from both the GPU and motherboard with each ram configuration.
Any help is appreciated, if you need a parts list let me know and I'll put it here.
Edit: I just remembered there was an unsettling noise when I put the CPU in, however I thought nothing of it becaue the video guide I as watching on the internet said this would happen and the sound they had matched the sound my computer made.
