Does this CPU bottleneck my GPU?

I have an AMD FX-4350 4.2ghz paired with a GTX 670 2gb and was wondering if it bottle necks it. The 670 requires 2-6pin connectors for power and I have a 460w power supply and 8gigs of 1600 ram.

Yes, the FX 4350 will limit your GPU. Have you overclocked your CPU any?

460W is an unusual power for a PSU, and the Cooler Master Elite 460W comes to mind. Reviews seem to show that it is a re-branded 400W PSU and us unable to deliver close to 460W on the main 12V rails. Since you are using a 170W GPU, you would be pushing the limits of a 400W PSU, especially if you plan to overclock anything, and even at 400W it's a low performance, budget PSU. If you know what model PSU you have, let us know.

Try increasing/reducing image quality (at the same resolution) in games. If FPS stay the same- CPU is the bottleneck. It most likely is in anything that is above 60-70 fps, and at a lower mark in CPU intensive games.

I had an FX-4350,and a GTX 760 together, and it bottlenecked by whole system. It really is a disaster of a cpu in my opinion. I played Arma 3 with it had the frames you would expect with amd. AMD cpu's pretty much are known for having very weak single core performance and thats what games need, especially cpu intensive games. So if I were you I would do a cpu upgrade first, trust me it pays off. If you have the money right now, upgrade to an intel i5, they are great cpu's. The FX-4350 is a good budget cpu, but at times, it literally performs like a potato.
