So i bought a MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G for my pc.

PC parts:
mobo - Asus z170 pro gaming
proc - Intel core i5 6600k
ram - Corsair 16 GB DDR4-2400 Kit
power - Corsair CM550m

Plugged the card in, hooked up the cables and installed the latest driver. But when I reboot and hook my monitor up to it, the screen stays black.

Device manager recognizes the card, displays no errors, and the bios recogizes the card by saying there's an Nvidia gpu in the PCIEX16_1 slot

In the bios I tried setting the Primary Display to: auto, didn't work it reverted back to integraded cpu. Also tried setting it to PCIE, same issue.. it reverted back when the bios rebooted after saving. The bios has been updated to the latest version

Also tried setting Primary Display whilst having turned off the integraded graphics in device manager, didn't help either. It resulted in reverting back as before.

If there's anyone who can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

Solution
Maybe your power supply can't run the card, also try a few different video ports in the card. Aside from that, contact MSI for support so they can troubleshoot the card with you and get it exchanged if needed.
