Hi there!
So today I guess I'm gonna get my 1070 ;) For now I have a 770 installed with the latest drivers
(368.39). My question is : do I have to unistall them before putting 1070 in? Or after that? Or not at all, since same driver version is the latest one for 1070 too?
Got many opinions; some say I should, the others say there's no such need, dunno what to do, don't wanna break my card. Thanks for your help.

Oh, I use Windows 7. (if it matters)

Solution
If you bought a new gfx card with the same driver support, it is not necessary to reinstall the driver, except if the driver doesnt recognize the card. For example, if you are manually or specifically selected driver from geforce, instead of automatic download, sometimes geforce driver doesn't recognize your card and only shows the card as general vga adapter.

368.39 is the latest one for 770 and 1070 as well. At least it is when I search for drivers on Nvidia website.

Edit: Guess I'm gonna leave those drivers alone, put 1070 and ... see what happens :p

disagree completely, I've never had this work, for me it blue screened my machine. Uninstall drivers, shut down, install card, start up and install drivers. You may end up on exactly the same driver, but this will keep it clean and stop issues.

It might work, but if it doesn't then you have swap the cards back and then follow the above.

Well, not everyone had the same experience. I tried those option, putting a newer version GT 730 in my pci slot, after my brother broke his gt 430. I used the same driver obtained from nvidia automatic updates. There is no major problem with any hardware until now.
