If i get it, and put BOTH my 980TI and my 1070 in my ASUS X99 Deluxe motherboard, can i get double the power for games??

Solution
Basically, the DX12 specification allows, in some specific applications, for Multiple Display Adapters to dynamically split the rendering workload and 'work together' to improve performance.

However, this is highly dependent on game developers implementing the feature, and implementing it correctly.

As it stands now, and for the forseable future, DX12 Multi-Adapter should not be considered a viable option to increase your gaming performance.

Aside from DX12 Multi-Adapter support, you would not be able to SLI a GTX 980Ti and GTX 1070 together; only one or the other could be used for gaming.
Therefore, I recommend that you stay with your current GPU for now as the true flagship devices are scheduled to be released early next year from...
With current games, no.
It is possible that you will be able to utilize both GPUs in future DX12 games utilizing Mulit-Adapter support, but I would not plan any purchases around this at the moment.

My recommendation would be to stay with your current GTX 980Ti until the actual flagship devices are released early next year.
The minimal performance uptick is not worth the added cost, and the reduced power usage will never be able to cover the electrical cost differences between the two cards.

So what you are saying is to wait until a device comes out so that I can combine the two? Or are you saying its not possible to combine two different GPUs?

What about dedicating the GTX 980Ti to PhysX processing and using the 1070 for all the rest of the GPU processing functionality? Would that not be a good option for a performance increase while utilizing both cards?
