Hello,
Well I've had this problem since I formatted my computer a year ago and did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
When ever I download large files (example: a large Steam game) it will cut out and if I disconnect from my network then reconnect instantly it will start working again and then about 10 minutes later it will disconnect with the yellow and black exclamation mark sign saying no network connection. Rinse and repeat until the file is downloaded.

Everything is fully up-to-date including the router.
I use a
-ASUS Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard
-i7 6700K
-ASUS PCE-AC68 Dual Band Wireless PCI Express Network Interface Card
-Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD
-Virgin Media SuperHub 2AC

Now before I formatted and did a fresh install I had no problem at all I could download large files and max speeds and stream Netflix etc all at the same time without a single drop in connection.

My connection speeds is ~105MB/ps Download and ~7MB/ps Upload

Also my girlfriend is on her gaming laptop and she has no such issues when downloading large files and she doesn't use a dedicated networking card like mine other than the one that came in the laptop.

I really hope someone can help and if you need anymore information just ask. Thanks.

Look for mtu setting your wifi card configuration if it is not set to1500 add and save.

I suggested the driver link because most download drivers from third party sites which could have an older driver. Better to get them from the manufacturer website.

As I previously stated in the main post everything is up-to-date. That includes drivers for everything. Network card, CPU, and firmware for the router.

Yes I agree however I did originally get them from the manufacturers website and the MTU setting is at 1500 and still get the disconnects.

Check these settings see if it helps.

Click StartStart button, type Power Options in the Start Search box, and then click Power Options in the Programs list.

User Account Control permission If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

Click Change plan settings under the power plan that is selected. For example, if the Balanced option is selected, click Change plan settings under Balanced.

Click Change advanced power settings.

In the Power Options dialog box, expand Wireless Adapter Settings, and then expand Power Saving Mode.
In the list that appears next to On battery, click Maximum Performance, and then click OK.

I've already done this and no change.
