I have been experiencing a overheating issue with my Intel i5 CPU on an Asus P8Z77-V motherboard.
I had recently installed an extra HD and an extra RAM. After some days the computer was shut off for CUP overheating. I went into the BIOS and the temperature was indeed rising about 1°C / second at start up, up to the max 100-105°C so I shut the pc down.

I found out, re-opening the case, that the new RAM - despite recognized by the OS (Windows7) - had made the led of the motherboard go red, so I took the RAM off, but the overheating issue was still there as described.

The next steps I took were the following:
- cleaning all the fans and replacing the CPU cooler + thermal paste
- detaching all the HDs to see if the power supply was not able to give power to all the components causing the CPU issue
- flashing the BIOS to reset to the defaults.

None of this steps helped. What next?

I installed a new CPU fan. The problem was there before (with the old fan) and did not change installing the new one. Sure I double checked installation and applying of the thermal paste.
