Hi guys!

I want to make a gpu upgrade in the near future (rx 480) but first, i wanna know, that my cpu can or can not handle a stronger gpu. I m rocking a Gtx 960 now, which i plan to upgrade. I m thinking about the Rx 480, or something from nvidia, but i wanna ask you guys, will my cpu be a bottleneck, or it ll be fine?

Solution
Only in very CPU intensive games with loads of units on screen , like AoTS and TW:Warhammer, although even then it will not hurt fps much. Overall- this CPU and RX480 is a good enough match.
You can also check, maybe you can run it at 4GHz. I never had any of those CPUs, but if I remember correctly with the right motherboard they could be set to run 4 clocks higher than boost clock.

The processor you have right now won't bottleneck to the graphic card you planned to upgrade to. I just recently upgraded my video card to 1080 w/ my i7-2600k which is a generation earlier than yours. And I run all my games and they run great.
