Hello,
I'm really clutching at straws here and have tried so many threads to no avail. I was wondering if anyone may have a solution? The following are my specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: Radeon R9 390
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
CPU Cooler: Scythe Lori
PSU: Xilence XP600 Performance C, 600 Watt
case: Sharkoon VS4-S
Photo of PC: https://i.imgsafe.org/ad889565ee.jpg

At first I thought it was the air flow of my case so I took the side panel off which helped but it did not solve the issue. Secondly I installed software to control the fans so as that they spin at 100% when the cpu has reached 60C. This also helped but the temperatures still sore quite high.

Currently with the side panel removed, pc placed beside open window and with the fan software it runs at about
Idle: CPU=27C GPU=29C
Gaming (battlefield 4): both reach over 70C

(no overclocking)

Would doing something such as changing the thermal paste really have that much of an affect on the temperatures or is there some kind of issue with the hardware? I have already had two crashes due to overheating and I really don't want it to happen again as it was an expensive PC.

Well, several things come to mind. I don't think your GPU is running warm, the temps for it look very good, especially considering it's a 390. Your CPU is running hot, as the FX will throttle above 70C. I think the cause of that is simply the cooler you're using being inadequate. The Scythe Lori is a low profile design for mini ITX systems and it's just not enough cooler for an FX 8350. Since your case can accommodate a 160 mm height cooler, I would pick up a Coolermaster Hyper 212 or Cryorig H7. This should solve your temp issues.

Hey sorry for the late reply. That sounds about right I was expecting something out of the ordinary but it probably just boils down to a lackluster cooler, and poor ventilation in the case. Thanks
