How do you know those are the cause of the issue?

Changing the antennas may not change anything. Are you connecting to a 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz network? How is your signal strength? How many devices do you have connected to your network? How many of your neighbors are using the same wireless channel as you?

Lots of factors to consider. Also, a wireless connection may not be able to take full advantage of your overall incoming bandwidth due to the types of factors mentioned above. The make/model/capability of your router is also a major influence on how well your system will perform.

I suggest you first run the benchmark which revealed your 20Mbps bandwidth when you have moved your PC or router such that the two are 3-6 feet apart with no objects between them. If you still get 20Mbps, then I would suggest using an Ethernet wire and directly connect to the router. If you still get 20Mbps then it is your service or your router, not your WiFi card's antenna. (To determine between the service and router, directly connect the PC to the modem; if you get 20Mbps then your service is poor, if you get 90Mbps then your router can't keep up.) If you get 90Mbps on the Ethernet but 20Mbps on the nearby PC/router WiFi connection then it is either your router, your WiFi card, or your antenna. If you get 90Mbps on the WiFi when they are nearby then there is probably a great deal of physical material between your current location and the router and the 20Mbps bandwidth is a reflection of your poor signal. It isn't really up to the antenna to try and grab more signal when there fundamentally isn't much there, ie, your antenna already probably gets as much signal as the router is delivering. It would be up to the router to output more signal. This is when you start looking into a WiFi extender, powerline adapters, MoCA, or Ethernet cable in the wall.

To answer the above three comments:

The computer is currently sitting ~1 meter away from the router, with clear line of sight between the router's antenna and the wifi adapter antenna. I also tried increasing the distance to about ~5 meters, with no change in performance. 2.4 and 5ghz tested.

Using my laptop within a similar distance, or in the next room over (8" concrete wall), I get ~90, and ~50 respectively on either 2.4 or 5ghz

Using the antenna from another router (Archer C5) I get ~85-90

Newegg reviews of the card list similar problems, and report that changing to higher quality antennas improve performance.
