Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a gtx 950 and I don't know if a need a new psu or not.

My specs are: i5 4440 + h97m-d3h + 8gb hyperx + 1tb wd blue + bcp600os (which has 14A in the 12V rail and a 6pin PCIE connector).

Thing is I'm on a budget right now and I would like to avoid changing the psu, at least for the moment.

Thanks in advance

Solution
A GeForce GTX 950 needs about 20 amps on the 12v+rail and at least a 400w power supply , usually with 1 - 6 pin PCIE power connection.

There are a couple of models that are slot powered only , no additional PCIE power required.

I posted the specs of the psu on the publication, I have already checked them but it's not what I'm asking about

nope, that's just a little too low. You need a solid name brand 350-400 W PSU. You have only 168 watts on the 12 V rail for everything in the system and that's not quite enough.

Again, no. It's the same basic GPU and at best it's a few watts this way or the other. If you only have 168 watts on the +12v rail, your power issue can't be solved by simply finding slightly different GTX 950s. This is a low-end power supply intended for a basic office rig.
