Ok so first of my current specs are:

FX - 8350
16Gb 1866mhz Hyper X
GTX 1070
and ssd.

So i got my 1070 through the door the other day upgrading from a gtx 970, now the gtx970 was a lovely card and in the division i was getting 50 to almost 60 fps on ultra and 60fps constant on high at 1080p.

and now with this card im getting 60 fps constant on ultra and im super happy about it at 1080p.

so with having afterburner for my fan curve i see that my 1070 core clock while playing the division is maxed at 1835mhz unless im fast traveling but the line is pretty much stable. but the gpu is at 99%.

games run smooth as hell but im curious should my gpu be rinning that high? is that just overclock gamming mode? cause i didnt overclockit thats just what the standard msi founders went to.

here a screenshot of 15 mins of gameplay "windowed"

so basicly any info on this whole bottleneck talk would be Gr8 Cheers :D

that is "boost mode" you are seeing. that's part of the way the card works. like turbo mode with cpu's, when the card knows it has more to give, it does. so the speed will ramp up when it has power and thermal space to do so and will slow down when it nears it's limits.

perfectly normal and what the card is designed to do.

i have the msi gtx 1070 overclocked and i oc more with msi afterburner. also i have a fx 9590 @5.1GHZ. if you have V-sync Off then that means your gpu will be at 99% because your using full power. now if the scene isnt gpu demanding the usage may drop. however theres nothing wrong with 99% gpu usage it means your NOT bottlenecking from the cpu. it's normal
