Need a great cpu and mb for new pc upgrades

Solution
Motherboards are a lot like cars. Nearly any new car will get your were you want to go, even if you want to break the speed limit all the way there. But some cars come with more whistles and bells than others do. Some will last longer than others.

As long as the motherboard you want to buy has all of the features that you want it to have, and is one of the following name brands, you should be ok. At this point, I would want one of the following brands of motherboard: Asus, AsRock, Gigabyte, and MSI.
This would be nice. Do you need something less expensive? If so, consider the Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H for $30 less.

When it comes to PC's the motherboard and the CPU are *THE* heart of the system. Skimping on things at this point will hurt the performance of the entire system.

I would also recommend replacing the video card with an AMD RX480 8GB for $229. These cards will be released on June 29th, and will compete with the GTX 980. AMD has been building these cards for awhile now, in an effort to try to avoid having the stores run out of them. These also only need a single 6 pin power cable.

I took the liberty of selecting a lower end Intel i5 CPU, a lower priced motherboard, added a 1TB hard drive and a 550w Power Supply. I wanted to put the RX480 8GB video card, but since they will not go on sale for another 7 days, they are not showing up in the lists yet. So add $229 to the price you see at the link below to cover the cost of the AMD RX480 8GB video card.

I hope this helps you out.

im not trying to go cheap im just trying to get the best performance for a low cost so i dont use my how currency

The motherboard I selected is a full sized ATX motherboard. The CPU I picked saves you $20 alone. I own the Z87 version of the motherboard I selected for you. Not to mention that this motherboard was almost half the cost of the one you had listed.

But since you selected the first answer you got as the best solution, you must have seen something there that you liked better than this one.

And I filled in the gaps you had like no storage device at all, and I cannot say this loud enough, but I own the GTX 770 4GB video card. The AMD RX480 8GB card will have almost triple the processing power of the GTX 770 for $229.

and it was select as best solution by accident xD

I would advise against an ITX MB which is very small and must limit the slots and connections because of that. The microATX MB's are just a little bit smaller. In that case I think you just have to look at each MB individually and see what it offers.

I am not sure why you would want a MB with with DDR3 RAM. The Skylake chipset was intended to work with DDR4 RAM and faster RAM may benefit some games.

By the way, that D3HP MB has USB 3.1, an ALC 1150 codec for upgraded sound, M.2, and an extra PCIe x4 slot for expansion. The DDR4 in any non-Z170 MB will downclock to 2133.

out of these 4 choices which one would you get? c: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?CompareItemList=-1%7C13-157-639%5E13-157-639%2C13-128-843%5E13-128-843%2C13-128-842%5E13-128-842%2C13-128-869%5E13-128-869

Part of this decision depends on if you want to overclock the memory and/or the CPU, or might want to do that in the future. You will notice that both H170 motherboards will only support DDR4-2133 memory, while the two Z170 motherboards have a huge list of memory speeds they support. The H170 motherboards do not allow for the memory or CPU to be overclocked. Period. If you buy one of those and later change your mind, you will have to buy a Z170 motherboard to be able t do it.

Over the years, I have learned to trust reviews posted by actual buyers. I was about to say I would choose the GIGABYTE GA-Z170-HD3P (rev. 1.0) ATX Intel Motherboard until I noticed that it only has a 3 egg rating. I want to see a 4 egg listing at a minimum. Soi I peeked at the amazon site for that same motherboard, and its only got 4.6 stars. And the other Z170 motherboard ranks almost the same on both sites.

So I would either picks the AsRock H270 board, or keep lookinh.

Yes, the H270 reference above was a typo. They will be out in about 4-6 months though... :p

As for the latest motherboard you linked, I really like that board as long as you only plan to use DDR4-2133 ONLY, and do not plan to overclock your CPU. Everything else about the board looks great.
