Looking to fix a phone network mode problem

Hello guys!
I recently got an LG Leon LTE and to my surprise, the phone only runs on 2G. The phone's current network mode is GSM/CDMA/LTE auto so I don't know why it's still stuck on 2G.The phone was T mobile unlocked so I don't know if it's a hardware restriction or some sort. It's really frustrating. My current network carrier provides 2G/3G/4G services. Any ideas?

I got the same problem i have a sim that runs 3g when putting it on oneplus one it runs 4g but on this lg leon it only runs 2g by the way my phone is unlocked metro pcs

If I understand, this used to be a T-Mobile phone, but it's unlocked and you transferred it to a new carrier?

LTE service requires a SIM card from your new carrier. If you still have the T-Mobile SIM card in there, the phone is trying to get 4G and possibly 3G service from T-Mobile. If it has no SIM card in there, the phone has no way to identify itself to the LTE network. If you have a new SIM card from your new carrier, make sure they've correctly activated 3G and 4G service on your account.

Also check the frequency bands used by your new carrier to make sure they are compatible with the bands the phone supports (under the Cellular section of the second link). Unfortunately, a lot of phones are customized for a specific carrier, and will suffer worse or no connectivity if used on a different network even if unlocked.

(Incidentally, the phone says GSM/CDMA/LTE not because it supports CDMA networks like Sprint and Verizon, but because 3G service on nearly all GSM devices is over CDMA.)

Yes, I signed on to a new carrier and my new carrier supports 3G/4G. I've read a couple of articles which suggest that T-mobile may have re-configured the phone hence the reason why it's stuck to 2G. Is this possible?
