Overclocking 4670k
GTX 1080 Asus Rog Strix
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHz 16GB
BenQ 24" LED XL2430T
Corsair CX650 Power supply
(B85 or z87-pro) Mobo
250 GB SSD Kingston
Will this bottleneck the 1080?
Thanks in advance :*
The RAM is not compatible with the rest of the system.
Do you own ANY of these parts already? I recommend a lot of changes.
Only own the 250gb ssd and 650 psu, what would you recommend? - I can buy the cpu and z87-a mobo cheap from a friend
I',m going to play WoW, CSGO, BF1 and some of the new games incoming.
So if I OC the CPU, and use dual channel 2400+ RAM, would my PC not be bottlenecked and be very good for a long time in gaming?
Depending on the price, 2400Mhz RAM is a bit overkill and not necessary. Dual channel 1866Mhz DDR3 would be fine.
I'm confused, I got a a set of 2x4 gb 1600mhz corsair vengeance, is this enough/okay, or should I get over 2400? Not sure if I understand this right haha
Faster DRAM can provide better overall performance, 1600 is and has been entry level for a couple years now, with prices near same, might as well go 2400, I haven't used under 2133 in prob my last 50+ builds
True, though many apps and even games are benefiting performance wise from faster DRAM and it's an indication that upcoming newer games will employ DRAM more also
It's all up to you Each new line is a little faster, and a little more expensive, can wait and see how the new look and bench, it will alo be DDR4 so same as going Skylake will be needing CPU, mobo and DRAM
