I have been looking to upgrade my 860k rig which I already have 16gb of DDR3 ram for. My main uses are going to be gaming, general work tasks (College Work), and the occasional streaming to Twitch (Maybe, haven't decided yet...). I have a few options I could go with

1: Intel Xeon E3-1231v3, essentially an Intel Core i7-4770(Locked) with 4 cores and Hyperthreading, a Gigabyte B85 motherboard and a Thermaltake Core V21 case. ($340 total in Upgrades)

2: Intel Core i5-6600k, highly overclockable and great performance, a Z170 Mobo, 16gb of DDR4 Memory, and a Phanteks eclipse P400. ($418 total in upgrades)

Overall, for my tasks which would you suggest? The cheaper Haswell Xeon with great locked performance or Skylake i5 OC'd, offering USB 3.1, USB Type-C, and an M.2 Slot. Or perhaps for my needs an i5-6500 or an i5-4690k and Z97 would suffice!?!? What do you think? All opinions are welcome! :)

Solution
if you already have 16gb of ddr3 memory go for the xeon and cheaper motherboard .
it´s a great all-round cpu and can deal with pretty much anything you throw at it including games
(assuming you have powerful enough video card of course)

m.2 or usb 3.1 are not such a big deals .
