I have encountered a Blue Screen Error in which every time I go to the desktop screen, and after about a 1-2 minutes, regardless of what I'm doing, I get a blue screen that reboots my computer. The error is some stop error code 0x00000124. I am able to get into safe mode just fine (writing this in it as well). I've been researching and working on my computer to get it to function properly by looking at other solutions from different sites but nothing has worked (solutions that I've tried are posted below). I seriously don't know what else to try and really need help.

Specs:
CPU - i5 4690k
Motherboard - GA-Z97X-UD5H
GPU - MSI GTX 970
PSU - EVGA Supernova 850 G2 (80 plus gold)
Monitor - ASUS VG248
OS - Windows 7

Temperatures:
- gpu and cpu don't exceed 40 Celsius according to bios and MSI afterburner

Solutions Attempted:
- Dusted entire system for heat problems
- Re-seated gpu, ram, and hdd/ssd
- Removed mobo battery for at least 30 minutes and put back in to reset bios
- Did full scan with anti virus, no problems detected
- Tried different, working ram

I want to think that my drivers are just out of date but I'm unable to update them because the BSOD stops me from doing so.

I'm not sure if you need any kind of logs or not; if so, tell me which ones and how to do so and I'll post them here.

Solution
BCCode: 124 is a Hardware Failure though software such as BIOS, low level chipset drivers, drivers, and even security programs can cause it.

perhaps u need to do a clean install of ur windows and see if the issue persists...that way we can eliminate the OS as the source and go to the hardwares for further testing...also do a bios update bfore windows installation./..

I've tried system restore on multiple points but every time I attempt it it says that there was a problem with C drive.

I've looked through device manager and there are no red x's on anything.

I disabled Enhanced Halt State in the bios, didn't work.

Tried using error checking on C drive, but couldn't; said it was unable to do so because it was in use.

I know that I have updates available for both my gpu and some available for Windows but I don't think that I can update them in Safe Mode.
