Heya, my friend is looking to build a gaming PC, and for the moment this is the list we've come up with, his budget is £600

List: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/9N43Cy

Now, what I suggested to him is, that we should wait for the RX 480 as it is speculated to harbour the same performance as a GTX 980, but for some, reason he wants to stick with a GTX 960?! I have no idea why, but apparently in the past he's had bad experiences in the past with AMD as a whole. I'm trying to tell him that the RX 480 will blow the 960 out of the water but he's not having it.

so in your guy's opinion, should we go for the 960 or the RX 480 and if we chose the RX 480, what can I say to him to persuade him to go team red?
If you are to link part(s) please make sure you've provided English links because I'm from the UK.

All answers are much appreciated, Ajsski99.

RX 480 should be available by then.
To persuade...
If your friend can wait awhile, tell him to wait until the 1070 and 1080 are available from other vendors such as MSI, Gigabyte, etc etc. Since the 1070 is on par with the 980ti at a significantly lower price, the prices on the 980, 980ti, 970, and 960 are gonna plummet once the other vendors start offering better and cheaper versions of the new cards. I'm kinda in the same situation as your friend, and I'm planning on picking up either a titan, or a 970 as soon as the prices drop.

He can't wait much longer, as he is getting the parts for this PC for his birthday and that is in 3 weeks, and his current system (a Samsung laptop) has died completely so he can't really wait

RX 480 should be available by then.
To persuade him, tell him it's as powerful as the 980 and is only half the price. :3
A lot of people hate AMD/ATI drivers. Ever since crimson was released they've got nothing to complain about.

Yeah, if he can't wait until the prices on the Nvidia cards drop, then I would recommend just going with the RX 480, you honestly can't beat AMD from a price point, and the RX 480 is an awesome card.

Make sure you look into power requirements for his build though if you go with the AMD, you may wind up needing a more powerful PSU.
