Is it worth to overclock my 4770K for my new GTX 1080s in SLI?

Hi. I built my PC since the 4770K came out and through all these years I have only been changing my GPUs (currently I have 2 GTX 980ti in SLI). I also currently play at 3440 x 1440 with a monitor with a 100hz refresh rate (Acer Predator X34)
I intended to change my PC this year but seeing what Broadwell E and the upcoming Kaby Lake brings, I rather wait for another year because I would invest on platforms likely to be substituted next year.
So until next year comes I planned to at least overclock my 4770K so I can get the best results possible with my 2 new GTX 1080s that I plan to use in SLI but I've been hearing comments that it's not worth to do the overclock because the extra fps I would gain would be absolutely negligible and that in real situations I would not notice any improvements.
Do you experts agree? Any additional suggestions? Thank you!
