Will the AMD RX 480 be compatible with my PC?

It has an inspiron 3847 motherboard, and I was wondering if the upcoming AMD RX 480 will be compatible for my PC.

Hehe, I like your rig...

And I agree.
It will be astonishing with a new graphics era that lower the energy and temps and therefore the noise and requirement for extremely well ventilated chassis. I my self are looking forward to AMD RX 480 or its successors.

Another quick question. the PSU in the PC is 300 W. Will I need to upgrade for the RX 480? I don't mind having to do so, I would just like to know.

you may encounter some problems if you don't.
A good 500W should be fine.

Ok, my pc has about 9.5 inches of space for a graphics card, and all the listings on newegg say the card is gonna be 10 inches or longer. How is that supposed to fit in my pc?

yes, the reference design is 9.5 inches, but the ones on sale on newegg say the dimensions will be larger. That is most likely because of the coolants added on to it. Are you saying OEMs like MSI, ASUS, etc. are gonna possibly come out with one that's 9.5 inches?

What OEM/partners manufacturers later on will come out with is unknown at present. Wait until after June 29 which is the official release date worldwide.

Yea you're right, it's too hard to tell right now. I know about a third of the reference design is a coolant, so there is a possibility of getting smaller, but it's too early to tell. Thanks for helping.
