Best gaming PC for $800? Advice on build?

Personally, I would go with skylake. But, haswell is no slouch, would just be easier in the future to interchange parts for another build if you need to upgrade again. The Evo's are wonderful, but again personally I would swap that for a Kingston UV400/HyperX SSD and get a caviar blue 1 TB platter for storage so you're not locking yourself into 250GB of data. & for the price of that PSU... I would grab something on EVGA's G2 line. You don't need a full 750W. RX 480 has a TDP of 150, an i5 makes that all of like... 250 maxing it. Would need tests to be run, but I would be surprised if it hit over 300W. Could bump down to a 650G2. (Basing pricing off of ACTUAL not off of mail in rebates)

here you go. 4 core overclocker with a decent cooler and motherboard (should support 4.3 to 4.5 GHz)
the R9 380X is a standin, price-wise for the 4 GB RX 480
16 GB ram
your orginal 250 GB SSD plus a 1 TB HDD
had to stick with a les expensive case and a more power-appropriate PSU

Not a very good PSU, or motherboard. Also you have no real upgrade options, with that being a last gen setup. If you really want to stick with a last gen setup, this would be a better solution. Much better board with proper support for SLI/CF, and much better overclocking capability. Better quality PSU, also.
