Hi everyone, I recently decided to build my own computer. I got everything new except for the hard drive as I wanted to save a few dollars from buying a new OS, as well as put the hard drive to good use as it's a 2000GB hard drive. However when I boot it up it reaches the "Select a Keyboard Layout Screen" I select US, and then choose continue to windows 8. When I do this it just brings me back to the select keyboard layout screen.

My Build:
Processor: Intel i5 6400
MB: MSi Arsenal Gaming intel Z170A Tomahawk AC
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB SSC
PSU: EVGA 430 W1 80+, 430W continuous power
RAM: PNY Anarchy 16 GB DDR4 DIMM

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

You can use the hard drive you just need a new copy of Windows. That copy of Windows was installed to the prior system it was on and the configuration is completely different than what you built, it will never work.

You need to buy a new copy...

The hard drive is form a computer I bought pre-built, and already had windows 8 installed on it. I'm not sure if that helps in any way but I do not have a disk or source to install windows on to it. Is there any way I can still use this hard drive or do I have to get a new one?

You need to buy a new copy of windows with a license for it.
