Hey everybody I was wondering if I changed my motherboard would my drivers conflict? I recently spoke to a microsoft answer tech about it because i was wondering if I would need a fresh install of windows if i changed my motherboard, and they said if I swap them out i would be good, but I don't know if they where also talking about the drivers. So if I just delete all of my current drivers, then install the new ones after i swap em out will that work? Thank you and ask me about any confusion with my question

Solution
Also make backups of all your data files, Win is very good at transitioning, but on occasion it goes belly up and you'll have to do a fresh install. I've it it go smoothly about 95% of the time

It's possible, but seldom has adverse effects. If you take a drive from a different mobo and install it on a new mobo - (WIN 7 and newer) win will examine the new hardware and load default drivers from it's store (make sure Win is up to date before the move), then if all goes well, I normalload the latest drivers for the new mobo (from their website, the disk that comes with the mobo is generally already out of date), next run a good registry cleaner (Wise has a good free one), then will normally have to reactivate Win

Thank you very much. I was kinda worried because looking online and at different youtube videos on replacing motherboards, they all said drivers would conflict. But thank you for assuring me. I use CCleaner as a registry cleaner and I have the Win key in the box i got the flash drive in
