Hello!

Specs: FX-8350, GTX 950 SSC 2gb, and ASRock 990FX Killer (mobo)

I am trying to get my gpu to maintain the boost overclock (1493 mhz)

When I load into CSGO, the gpu speed is at 1493Mhz and stays there for a couple minutes. Then it drops down to 1189 Mhz. I'm not sure why it is doing this. I didn't even add an overclock, that is simply the "boosted" factory OC. I increased the power limit % and added MV but nothing is working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the CPU is bottle necking your performance past in the 100fps range. Even if you compare your fps with the videos his fps dips in the 90's and he has a 960. That being said i'm not expert past 60fps but if 3 of your cores are at 100% that might be the problem. I've read online they you can change how many cores csgo uses but as far as I am aware you have to increase the core use manually. you could look that up and see if you can increase the amount of cores CS go uses and if that helps your performance.

Other then that I dont have much knowledge past 100fps.

I don't think it is running at 100%, some of my cores get up to 85% and 1 core was at 98%. Sorry if this wasn't the info you were looking for, I really appreciate you trying to help!!

Edit: My gpu is now idling at 963 Mhz (which is lower than base clock). I know that CSGO is more CPU intensive than GPU, could it be possible that it is downclocking because it doesn't need that much power? Hope this helps.

I am running the game on all low settings for best fps performance. If I join a local server on aim_botz I get around 200-280 fps with it dipping sometimes below 200 (but only for a second). When the bots start running I get 100-140 fps. Joining a local server causes a lot less fps, so I'd imagine I could get around 250fps in a matchmaking game.

What I am wondering is if my GPU isn't running at the boosted clock speed, am I losing out on FPS?

Thanks again!

Yeah, unfortunately CSGO doesn't properly utilize CPUs. I have the setting "-threads 8" in the launch options but I didn't see any increase in performance.

I guess I just have to deal with the FPS I have :\

Thanks again for your help man!
