Hi,

It's my first time building and I have encountered something weird. My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-H81M-H. When I tried to plug my PSU SATA cables to my motherboard, it seems that my PSU SATA cables were larger than my motherboard's. Did I buy something wrong?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Each SATA device needs a separate SATA cable.

OS disk (SSD or HDD) --- SATA 0 (make sure this is SATA III capability)
Data storage HDD ---- SATA 1 (SATA III capability)
DVD drive --- SATA 2 (SATA II capability)
Second data HDD --- SATA 3 (either SATA II or III capability)

SATA 0 has the highest priority and should be used for the OS disk (this is usually SATA III capability).

Watch some videos on PC building and you will feel more comfortable with the procedures.
