Hello everyone,

I need an upgrade from my GTX 750. But as you all know, with all the new gpus coming out such as the GTX 1060 and the RX 480, I dont know what to look into. Ill keep this as straight forward as possible to make this easy and not confusing, for the most part.

My questions to you are :

1) Will the RX 480 preform somewhere around the GTX 960, R9 380 threshold ?

2) For me to achieve the biggest possible improvement from my GTX 750 under $300, should I get a GTX 960, RX 480, or GTX 1060?

3) Ok, with a completely open mind, which company preforms better for most mainstream titles, Amd or N-vidia, and why?

Thank you for your time in reading this.

Im aware that some of these questions are hard to answer because the benchmarks for some cards aren't out, but a general prediction would be appreciated.

1. It is wrong to think that a 200$ 14nm card perform as like an older, cheaper 28nm card. No it will not. It will perform as well as a GTX 970 or R9 390. Of course 4GB VRAM.
2. For 300? Dang man look for higher end stuff man. it's just like a dead spot. 1060/480 is 200$ and the 1070/ maybe upcoming 490 is more 400$. So I mean the rest of the question belongs to your system. You don't even lost a CPU, ram, PSU. Or anything. We need those to be able to determine best card and compatibility. And best match to get the most out of your system. And honestly, I would say mostly the RX 480 will have the upper hand.
3. It depends on what games you play. But I personally see more NVidia optimized games, but it depends on the games you play! Star Wars battlefront is a highly AMD optimized game. It depends.
4. Everything depends on your rig. Post specs please. You might spend some upgrades first to get ready for new gpus.

Gigabyte Hercules, I never looked into its specs, but now that i did, it doesn't seem too great. I'll probably spend $40 on an evga 500w one, they seem a lot better. Thanks for the heads up.
