I have just completed a new build for the first time in 5 and a half years. I have a new power supply (Sentey MBP1000-HM), a new CPU (Intel i7 4790K), a blue-ray optical drive, and a Samsung 850 EVO SSD. The motherboard is an Asus Maximus VII Formula that I bought "like new". Every time I have started this build it won't boot and displays a Q-Code of 55 which according to the manual means No Memory Installed and my DRam LED is on continuously. I initially had 4 8GB sticks of G Skill Ares 1600. I then tried two sticks, and one stick, all following the directions of the manual. Same thing, 55, no memory. I then went and got some Crucial Ballistic 4GB sticks which are in the qualified vendor list provided with the manual. Same thing. I have held the CMOS reset button down for over 10 seconds but same thing. MemOK hasn't worked.

Solution
This "like new" motherboard is probably faulty. But first check the CPU and its socket that there is no damage to the pins/pads. And there should not be any dust, dirt, debris, nor thermal paste on or amongst the pins/pads.

Remount CPU carefully and evenly.

If still have memory issues, then it is likely the motherboard is faulty.
