hi,
it depends on what type of games you are interested in?
RPG, First hand shooter, Strategy etc.
There are a very big number of very good games out there.
Once in a while I like to play some games:
BF3, BF4, Battlefield Hardline, Crysis 2 (Yes fom 2011) and the most extreme of them all: Crysis 3 from 2013. Hehe
On top of that I play also: Far cry 4, Far Cray Primal, plus COD Black Ops 2 and 3, COD Ghosts, and COD Advanced Warfare - best in their series.
None of these can measure up to Crysis 3, except for Far Cry 4 and Far Cry Primal, barely.
But if I have to really recommend an extremly good game I will absolutely say Far Cry 4

And remember: Play it several times with different choices and You will get different story and ending.
This game will last for a very, very long time, consider that you take on side missions not just straight main mission. Oh well it's just fantastic I tell You.
A fun thing is also that is in an open world, meaning that you are totally free to explore and do what ever yo like - except when you come within a mission zone - then you can't leave that until its done.

Building, destroying, shooting, driving, flying?
There are games for everything.
Personally I think GTA is always a great game to have. Gives you a taste of most of the above, and you don't have do constantly do missions to enjoy the game, you can just explore the map, rob armoured vans and get blowjobs.
