Okay, I just built a computer today, and tried to plug it in. When I turn on the power supply, and then hit the power button, only the power LED turns on. The fans don't spin at all. I am using an i5 processor, Gigabyte H110M - A, a GeForce 970 SC, 8 gigs of RAM, and a a seagate 1TB desktop hdd.

Edit: I forgot to add something, my mouse and keyboard light up when plugged into the USB ports, also.

If your motherboard needs the 8-pin CPU power make sure you have that, if not it would only be 4 pins. Also make sure the 24 pin on your board is seated all the way. If you can plug in the small speaker that goes by the power and reset switch pins and listen for post.

I'm not sure if the picture worked so here it is in link form http://imgur.com/DLFqpTx
The cpu thing is only four pins, and my case doesn't have speaker pins to plug in. The 24 pin is completely seated, and the hook/latch on the side is hooked/latched

I tried that. Still nothing, but the power works. It doesn't look like it is shorting out because the light stays on steadily.

When I say the fans don't spin, I mean everything. The only sign of life is the power led lighting up.

Ok guys, after some paper clip testing, I'm pretty sure the PSU is dead. Is there any reason the light would turn on if the motherboard is getting no power? I see a battery on the motherboard

Please check that all your fans are plugged into a hub which is connected to the PSU.
