Hello..

So.. Recently, I bought this ASRock FM2A68M-DG3+..
I built it, and then when I turn it on.. The HDD was powered, CPU fan, and my dvd drive..
I also plug in my mouse and keyboard through USB ports.. The only thing that was powered was the mouse however. I tried different keyboards and it still gives me the same problem.
Then the second thing is I plug an display through VGA... (I don't have anything else other than that) and it doesn't give signal to the monitor.. There nothing showed on it. I tried different monitors and it also gave me the same problem. But the thing is, the motherboard beeped twice.

I tried to swap PSU, putting Ram in different slot.. But still doesn't work.

Can you give me an idea on this?
Thank you..

Are the beeps together or is it one beep a few seconds pause and then another? Also, are you using integrated graphics? If not what card do you have?

Hi,
If it is an AMI BIOS here is what the different Beep codes means:
AMI American Megatrends BIOS Beep Codes:

Beeps ----------- Error Message -------------- Description
1 short ------------ DRAM refresh failure -----The programmable interrupt timer or programmable interrupt controller has probably failed
2 short -------------Memory parity error-------- A memory parity error has occurred in the first 64K of RAM. The RAM IC is probably bad
3 short --------- Base 64K memory failure --- A memory failure has occurred in the first 64K of RAM. The RAM IC is probably bad
4 short ------------ System timer failure ------- The system clock/timer IC has failed or there is a memory error in the first bank of memory
5 short ------------ Processor error ------------- The system CPU has failed
6 short ------------ Gate A20 failure ------------ The keyboard controller IC has failed, which is not allowing Gate A20 to switch the processor to protected mode. - Replace the keyboard controller
7 short ---- Virtual mode processor exception error -- The CPU has generated an exception error because of a fault in the CPU or motherboard circuitry
8 short ----- Display memory read/write error ---------- The system video adapter is missing or defective
9 short ----- ROM checksum error ------ The contents of the system BIOS ROM does not match the expected checksum value. The BIOS ROM is probably defective and should be replaced
10 short ----- CMOS shutdown register read/write error -------- The shutdown for the CMOS has failed
11 short ----- Cache error --------------------------------------- The L2 cache is faulty
1 long, 2 short --- Failure in video system ------------ An error was encountered in the video BIOS ROM, or a horizontal retrace failure has been encountered
1 long, 3 short --- Memory test failure --------------- A fault has been detected in memory above 64KB
1 long, 8 short --- Display test failure ---------------- The video adapter is either missing or defective
2 short ------------- POST Failure ----------------------- One of the hardware tests have failed
1 long -------------- POST has passed all tests

Best regards from Sweden

Fudge.. I accidentally clicked the best answer thing..

Umm... Mobo rear.
I am putting them in the same io
I even put the keyboard's to the one where I put my mouse and it still doesn't work on this computer

I swap my ram. And the computer still beeps 2 shorts..

I also tried PSU swapping.

If the memory's some how is bad, the computer will Not start up att all and neither will it give a signal to the monitor.
I suggest, since you said its two short beeps, get another ram stick and try.
Remember if You only using one ram stick, it must be placed in the correct memory slot. Se the manual for this.

I'm a little bit confused, but that is nothing new, hehe.
Earlier you said:
I did. I put in another ram stick. Still doesn't work.
Did you put in this "new" stick in the correct memory slot on the mobo, as I stated earlier?
This is important.

You didn't replayed to what I was asking if this is in fact an AMI BIOS?
Otherwise the beep codes clearly says that there is a problem with the memory, one way or the other. It could also be that the mobo itself is broken and that you should do a RMA of this.
