I have two Lian-Li PC-O8 case and each of them produce a whining/ringing noise with a headphone connected to front panel. It's not audible during audio playback luckily, but it still annoys me. I want to make sure it's not my motherboard. I tried disconnecting the front USB headers, add shielding to the HD Audio wire, installing chipset and audio drivers but nothing solved the problem. If I connect the headphone directly to the motherboard, the audio is fine. How can I be sure, that it's not caused by a faulty HD Audio header?

Also I'm having issues with the built-in speakers of my Asus ROG Swift monitor. I sold my GPU last week and I'm using the Intel HD graphics currently. I hear two popping noise before and after each sound that comes from the monitor. I tried using HDMI instead of DP and it's the same. The strange thing is, when I connect the computer only to my TV the popping stops. If I connect a headphone the the monitor, the popping is also present in the headphone. Also I don't I had this issue with the Nvidia GPU installed. Maybe it's the Intel Display Audio driver, but I still can't rule out the motherboard.

It's quite possible that the system is suffering from a grounding issue. Have you made sure the audio sizzling wasn't found when you had your GPU installed and running off the front panel audio headers? You could remove your board from the chassis and try connecting it to another chassis, preferably one borrowed from your friends or at his place and see if the issue is persistent. If so then the issue is with the drivers/motherboard.

Might I ask what your full system's specs are inclusive of your OS and audio equipment? Have you made sure your BIOS is up to date? Windows 10 does exhibit some of the issues you've stated, most notably the front panel audio being (somewhat)messy.
